The Asia-Pacific
Partnership Power Generation and Transmission and the
Renewable Energy and Distributed Generation Task Forces are
pleased to announce that the U.S. utility, Pacific Gas and
Electric and FPL Energy with support from the Edison
Electric Institute have developed and will lead a technical
information exchange program concerning wind generation from
the perspectives of a purchaser of wind energy, an operator/
developer of wind generation and an integrated system
operator. The event will be held at the Pacific Gas and
Electric headquarters facility located in San Francisco,
California USA and FPL Energy’s California based wind
electric generating facilities. The program is aligned with
PGTTF Action Plan PG-06-1, “Best Practices for Power
Generation Activities Plan” and provides an opportunity for
technical exchange concerning wind electric generating
planning and operation. The expectation is that participants
will come prepared to discuss the status of wind electric
generation in their respective countries and to discuss
experiences in operation of wind facilities. A brief summary
of the program, registration form and lodging information is
provided.
It should be noted for planning purposes that participants
will be responsible for applying for visas, all air travel
and lodging costs. Meals will be provided at the opening
reception, during the classroom presentations, the noon meal
at the wind electric generating facilities activities and at
the closing reception.
If you need information concerning registration or more
details concerning the program, contact Mrs. Gabby Intihar
at Gabby.Intihar@hq.doe.gov.
